Although the Tax Office is not accepting walk in visitors due to Covid, a walk up service window is available during business hours. Also, a drop box and a mail slot is located within the front door of the Tax Office.

The Income Tax Division provides administration of the City Income Ordinance. The Income Tax Department's function is to assure compliance with the Income Tax Ordinance of the CIty by maintaining appropriate records with regard to the imposition of the tax and the return and payment of the tax.
 
The current rate is 1% with credit allowed for taxes paid to other cities up to 1%. Filling a tax return is mandatory, whether the residents has taxable income or not.
  
Who has to file City of Waverly Taxes? 

  1. A Waverly City tax return is required (even if no tax is due) if you are a resident (or part year resident)
  2. A resident with rental and/or business income
  3. An individual or business doing business in Waverly
  4. Non-residents who have rental property located in Waverly
